Handkerchief with geometric patterns.
The "shikaku" is connected to form a Japanese-style pattern. The design is a mix of checkerboard and hemp leaf patterns, giving it a traditional Japanese taste.
There are 9 holes in the lower right corner. Since the two pieces are laminated, the color of the lining can be seen through the holes, accentuating the design.
As a costume artist, I have paid close attention to every detail of this piece.
When squares and straight lines are connected, mysterious patterns are created.
Holes were drilled in nine squares of the pattern.
The colors on the back side peek out and the world beyond the square seems to expand and connect to somewhere else.
